Yuna felt herself being lifted up. The maid grunted in frustration when they realized how heavy Yuna was. They were trained to be much stronger than normal maids, but they never had to carry someone over the wall. One of the maids complained, “She’s way too heavy! How are we supposed to climb over when she’s not doing anything at all? Let’s get her to climb the wall willingly.”
When the maids looked at Yuna, they noticed that she had her eyes closed. The maid glared at the little girl. She dared to sleep through all of this. They were angry with her for being so uncooperative. The maid smacked Yuna’s back harshly and shouted, “WAKE UP! We know you aren’t sleeping. Climb over that wall. If you don’t, you know what will happen.”
Yuna opened her eyes to the blurry sight of the frustrated maids. She nodded weakly, “I’ll climb, so don’t do anything.” She gripped the rough edges of the rock wall carefully and began climbing up the wall. When she got to the very top, she felt her body swaying side to side. She had no more strength in her arms and legs after climbing up the wall.
She felt the wind slap against her face when her body fell forward off the high wall. She expected to fall on the hard floor, but she ended up in someone’s arms instead. She stared up at the person that caught her. Surprisingly, it was the boy that helped her at the palace. He sighed, “I should’ve known you’d be this clumsy. It hasn’t even been a couple days and you’re already causing trouble.”
Yuna didn’t like that she was constantly in danger whenever he was around. She wasn’t intentionally trying to cause him trouble. How was she supposed to know that she’d get kidnapped the next day? She quickly got out of his arms and stood firmly on the ground and replied, “I wasn’t causing any trouble. Why do you keep showing up when I’m in a pickle?”
He laughed, “Maybe, it’s fate.” Yuna scoffed, “As if! Would you like to explain to me why you’re here?” He stared into her eyes, “You should be asking your father that. Didn’t he tell you already?” Yuna tried recalling the conversation she had with her father. Her father told her that there was another general that would come to help her in the palace. So, it turns out that the general her father was talking about was the same guy that she encountered in the palace?
She couldn’t believe that this was a coincidence. How could she have guessed that the boy was a general? She began questioning him, “So, you’re the youngest appointed general that came to help me out? Why’d you agree to my father? How come you didn’t tell me sooner?” He smiled back at her, “I’ve been at your residence on multiple occasions. I thought maybe you already knew who I was.”
Yuna wondered how she didn’t meet him in her past lifetime. He was so close to her family and yet she never had the chance to meet him. He probably already knew who she was because he worked with her father on many occasions. She felt embarrassed for not being well informed about the people that worked with her father.
She stuttered, “H…How was I supposed to know that?” He laughed at her response, “Maybe you should spend more time getting to know people that work for your family. Instead of spending it in your study all day.” Yuna frowned, “How do you know that I’m in my study all day? Have you been stalking me?”
He felt flustered when she accused him of stalking her. He hurriedly explained himself, “Do you think I have the time to stalk you? I’m too busy working to have the time to stalk a little girl.” Yuna shouted and hit his chest, “Who are you calling a little girl! I’m not that much younger than you!” He caught her fist with no effort and moved his face closer to hers. She felt her face turn red. When he was just one inch away from her lips, he whispered, “You’re acting like a little girl right now.”
She was so irritated; veins began developing on her forehead. This kid was teasing her on purpose! She pushed him away from her and pouted, “You’re being mean!” He laughed, “I don’t think me telling you that you’re a little girl is anything offensive. The way you’re acting right now resembles one though.”
Yuna lived two lifetimes more than he had, she was technically a grandma compared to him. She never got called a kid in any of her lifetimes. She felt frustrated. She pouted and hmphed while looking away from him.
When he saw her pout, he felt kind of bad. He decided it was time to stop teasing her, “I was just joking. You’re not a little girl, so stop being mad at me. Let’s redo our introductions. I haven’t formally introduced myself to you, yet. My name is Choi, Eunho and just as your father informed you, I’m the youngest person to ever be appointed general. I’ll make sure to keep you safe in the future.”
Yuna had no reason to stay angry at him. He saved her life after all. She gave in, “I hope you don’t call me a little girl anymore. I’m sure you already know, but my name is Kim, Yuna. I wanted to tell you thank you for saving my life on multiple occasions. I’ll be in your care in the future.”
She bowed her head at him in respect. He was still considered a general and she didn’t want to be impolite. He was shocked by her behavior. He expected her to act like a rich spoiled noble lady, but she surprisingly bowed to him in respect. He felt touched. Despite being a general, no one of higher status had ever bowed to him before.
