Yuna was extremely light, especially since she looked younger than her peers. Although they were similar in age, Yuna was a lot lighter than what Eunho expected. He placed her on the bed, but afterwards, he didn’t know where to look. Yuna’s face and his were very close and there was an ambiguous atmosphere that caused both of them to become awkward.
What was Eunho supposed to do when he was in the room of the woman he loved. His one-sided crush wasn’t going away any time soon. He obviously didn’t know how to act in front of her. Their interactions weren’t as smooth as he had wanted. He felt defeated every time he spoke to her. He had a hard time trying to get his feelings across. He’d had the same issue in his previous life.
He gently placed her on the bed and looked away from her in a hurry. He couldn’t let her see his expression. Yuna observed his reaction. She could tell that he was easily flustered when he was around her. She initially thought that he was going to be a cold jerk, but after getting to know him more, it seemed that he didn’t know how to interact with girls. He was a lot purer and more innocent than she had originally thought.
Once he calmed down a bit, he turned his head back towards her direction. She wasn’t expecting him to face her and this caused his lips to brush against hers. Her body froze instantly, and her eyes grew wide with shock. His eyes shook when their lips touched. She had never come across anyone that had this sort of reaction.
She felt butterflies in her stomach and her hands were unusually clammy. Her face turned a shade of red. Eunho quickly moved away from her and tried his best to act like nothing had happened. He coughed, “I’ll let you get changed. I need to let your father know about this. I don’t think it’d be smart to visit the palace after almost being kidnapped.”
He quickly ran away from her. Yuna hadn’t heard anything he said. She was lost in thought about how a random person had stolen her first kiss. His lips were so soft against hers. She began rubbing the spot on her lips that brushed against his. Her fingers were not as soft as his lips.
She shook her head back and forth to clear her mind. What was she thinking? She didn’t have the time to be immersed in any romantic relationships. She should be spending her time on trying to find out ways to avoid her death. She looked at her reflection through her dresser mirror.
She wasn’t all that beautiful. She looked like a little girl and he didn’t know anything about her. Why would he like her? There was no way that Eunho would feel anything towards her. He proved it by walking away like nothing happened. It’s what Minho would have done in this situation.
Yuna frowned at her reflection. If she had to compare herself to the women in the palace, she would be the ugly duckling out of the bunch. Although she wasn’t the prettiest and she was lucky to have been born as her father and mother’s daughter.
When Eunho was finally out of her bedroom, he tried to calm himself down, but nothing helped. His heart was beating very fast and he couldn’t get himself to stop thinking about her lips. How could he have acted so stupidly? He didn’t know how he got out of that room, but he had escaped fairly quickly.
Yuna’s shocked face replayed in his head over and over again. If he stayed there any longer, she may have beaten him up for being a pervert. He had to find out how to approach her next. He didn’t want to be seen as
a pervert. He had no intention of doing anything scandalous. All he wanted was to have a normal relationship with her. Was that such a hard task? He didn’t know how to interact with her. He needed to find out how to act like a normal person.
He was used to encounters with the rivaling armies and soldiers that worked alongside him. He had never spoken to a girl and probably would never have the chance to if it weren’t for Yuna. She was in danger and he couldn’t just stand by and let her die. If he hadn’t been at the palace that day, she would have died in the palace.
He felt that he was undeserving of Yuna. She was trying her best to survive, but he was too busy trying to regain his former strength. He trained daily to get the position of general. His plan was to protect her from any dangers, but it took him too long. He spent majority of his time trying to become worthy of her, but he never had the chance to interact with her.
He was only reminded of how worthless he was. He almost lost her yesterday and that scared him. He wasted his first life and now he was repeating the same things in his second life. If he wanted to protect Yuna in the future, he needs to remain focused on her enemies.
From what General Junho had told him, he assumed that the Empress and Prince Minho were suspects in the attempted kidnapping and assassination. He had no evidence to prove anything. He planned to capture the maids that threatened Yuna, but first, he needed to inform General Junho about this.
He found the guards and had one of them go to the palace to inform General Junho about what happened. He then began lecturing the guards about their duty and how they should be more aware of intruders at all costs. The guards were afraid of the 13-year-old general. He was just as scary as General Junho. The cold aura emanating from his body struck fear in their hearts.
The guards dropped to their knees and begged to be forgiven for their mistakes. None of the guards moved an inch from their positions. They remained kneeling for hours until General Junho arrived. Junho had informed both the Empress and Emperor about the situation. Their meeting with Yuna was postponed to a week later.
He thought it would be best to investigate the situation more thoroughly first before letting Yuna step foot into the palace. He should
have been there for her when she woke up. He should have explained his plans more thoroughly. She assumed that she had to go to the palace even after all that had happened in the palace. If only he was better at communicating with his own daughter, none of this would’ve happened.
When Yuna had told him the truth last night, his plan was to postpone her meeting with the royal family so that they could plan out the next steps as a family to defend themselves from enemies. He had no clue that she would be kidnapped the very next day. Their enemies seemed to be more relentless than what he had thought.
He needed to find some evidence to convict their enemies. While at the palace, he investigated on the ninjas and the torture was not going as smoothly as normal. Whoever the enemy was, knew what they were doing. The ninjas were extremely loyal to their master, he could not get any one of them to reveal their master.
When he heard that Yuna was almost kidnapped, he felt fury rage through him. His guards were incompetent. He had trained each one of them for so long and they could not detect intruders. If it weren’t for General Eunho being at their residence, he would have lost his daughter. It seems that he needs to train them thoroughly.
I love there romance so much ❤️
