After his encounter with Haemi, Minho decided that it would be best if his servants escorted her back to his palace. She was reluctant at first, but he successfully convinced her that she needed treatment. It was difficult trying to get her back to the palace, but luckily for him, he was good at controlling women. The only woman he wasn’t confident in convincing was Yuna.
He decided it was best for Haemi to be out of sight. He didn’t want Yuna discovering his newly made relationship with Haemi. It wasn’t the right time. He wasn’t successful in obtaining her heart. Once he had her in the palm of his hand, he could do anything he wanted. She wouldn’t be able to say anything once she became his wife.
He could easily take in a concubine, especially since all Emperors had multiple wives. It is the emperor’s duty to have as many sons as possible. There’s always a risk of not having an heir to the throne. Yuna would not be able to keep him for herself. He was glad that this was a rule. Although Yuna was intelligent and there are many uses for her, he still wanted to have a beautiful wife. Yuna wasn’t bad, but he preferred Haemi’s beauty.
Once Minho arrived at the Kim Residence, he demanded the guards in front of the gates to let him through. The guards stood in the same position looking at each other in question. Should they let him in? They were specifically instructed to prevent any visitors from entering at this time. If they let him in, they were at risk of losing their lives. General Junho didn’t look kindly upon servants that put his daughter in danger.
He declared, “You’re not permitted from entering at this time.” Minho protested in response, “Do you have any idea who you’re talking to? You’re talking to Han, Minho the second prince of our nation. Would you like to be executed for contempt towards royalty? If you do not wish to be executed, I demand that you let me through the gates this instant!”
The guard broke into a cold sweat. He was flustered trying to decide what to do. If he let him through, he’d most likely die from the hands of General Junho, but if he did let him through, he would be executed for contempt towards royalty. Either choice led to death, and he had no say in the matter. The guard frantically searched his brain for any solutions to this problem.
The only way to get around this problem was for him to stall for time. He decided the best course of action would be to have General Eunho speak with the prince to avoid death. Yuna’s father wasn’t at home at the moment and the quickest way was through Eunho. He instructed the other guard, “Go and let General Eunho know that there’s a visitor.”
Prince Minho interrupted, “Let him know the prince is here. I would like to see if he has the courage to defy royalty.” The guard rolled his eyes and continued on his way towards the courtyard.
The sparring matches were in full swing, and the soldiers were gathered around two people fighting. Yuna successfully dodged Namjoo’s attack, but she was in for a rude awakening. The next move was impossible to avoid. Namjoo flipped into the air and landed in front of Yuna as planned. Yuna was running full speed ahead and didn’t notice this. She couldn’t stop fast enough. Resulting in her running into Namjoo head on.
Namjoo kicked out at her gut. The full force of her kick made Yuna fly off the platform and into the side of the wooden shed. Yuna’s body was covered in splinters, and she could not withstand anymore. She passed out, deeming her as the loser.
The soldiers could be heard cheering with all their might. Eunho on the other hand, was dead worried. He sprinted towards Yuna without a thought. He found her sprawled out inside the broken shed. She was covered in bruises and the splinters were stuck everywhere. His heart hurt thinking about her condition. If she wasn’t so stubborn, this wouldn’t have happened.
If she didn’t insist on becoming a martial artist, he wouldn’t have to see her injured like this. He quickly placed his finger under her nose to check if she was breathing. He felt her shallow breaths. She was still alive. He sighed in relief after discovering that she was okay. Eunho placed his arm under her knees and her back and lifted her up. Her head dangled back dangerously. He corrected the position so that her head would lean against his chest.
Eunho came out of the shed with Yuna in his arms. The soldiers peeked at the General in wonder. What was their relationship? He never personally carried any of them when they were injured. They were put on a stretcher and stuffed in the infirmary room with the other soldiers. They never saw this side of the general.
Once Eunho left, everyone began gossiping about what happened just now. They were interrupted when a guard came running towards them. The guard hastily inquired, “Where’s the general? There’s a visitor at the gates. I need to speak with him immediately.” Namjoo stepped in and said, “He’s busy at the moment. Can he wait?”
The guard shook his head frantically, “Prince Minho is currently at the gates. If I don’t get General Eunho out there this instant, there will be repercussions. The prince doesn’t seem to be a patient man. I’m afraid that both of us will have our necks chopped if we don’t let him through the gates.”
Namjoo groaned in frustration. Why is there such a difficult visitor at this time? She was worried sick about Yuna’s condition. It wasn’t her intention to send Yuna flying, but her strength wasn’t easily controllable. She was so lost in the fight that she didn’t think about whether her attacks could be fatal or not. It had been a while since she found an opponent that was able to fight her head on. General Eunho was the exception.
Namjoo had to admit, Yuna has potential to become a great martial artist. She hoped that Yuna was okay and that this wouldn’t be the last of her. She would hate herself if she was the one that caused Yuna’s death. She hoped that Yuna could realize her dreams. She hoped that women would be able to join the battlefield without judgement. Namjoo believed that Yuna could do what she herself could not. Yuna is capable of changing the world and its views. She had confidence in Yuna’s plan.
