Chapter 80 - HIBI

Yuna was lost inside the darkness within the deepest recesses of her mind. She had no clue where she was. She inspected her surroundings to make sense of her surroundings. She couldn’t see anything, and nothing made sense to her. Wasn’t she sparring with Namjoo just now? How did she get here? Did she die?

She didn’t believe that she was dead. Her first death wasn’t like this. She was sent towards the heavens to meet with God. She was in a peculiar place with no one and nothing around her. The darkness reminded her of how lonely the world really is. No matter how many people loved and cared about her, she could only feel how lonely it all is after death. One statement stuck with her - Everyone must die alone. The solitude engulfed her.

There was nothing and no one around. The only thing she could feel was the burning sensation that kept tearing at her insides. Something within her was changing. It felt like something was ripping apart her body and putting it back together. She couldn’t figure out what was going on. She struggled for a while until the pain receded.

Once she recovered, she frantically searched the darkness to find any clues to where she was. She ran around in search of anything, but there was nothing for a while. She walked and walked for a while and couldn’t find anything.

She finally stopped panicking when she felt that her feet were wet. She couldn’t see the floor, but she could feel that there was a puddle there. She bent down to feel the floor. The floor was covered with water, and she didn’t notice it soon enough. The peculiar thing was that her hand went through the floor. It was like she was walking on water.

She kept putting her hand in the water to test how deep it was. Her entire arm went underwater, but oddly her feet remained firmly on the ground. Was this a lake? She walked directly on top of where her hands were and surprisingly, she was still standing without falling in. This definitely isn’t earth. Where the h*ll is she?

She put her face in the water to see if it would go underwater or touch the ground. Her question was answered when she saw what was under the water. There was a bright light emanating from the bottom of the ocean. She had no clue if this was an ocean, but she could tell that it was deep underwater. She wasn’t a great swimmer, but she could probably try swimming to the bottom and back.

She hoped that she could make it to the surface without drowning. She dived in without much thought. The water was clear, and she could finally make sense of her surroundings. She found it odd that there was nothing underwater. There were no fishes, and it didn’t look like the bottom of an ocean.

She couldn’t figure out where she was or how she got there, but the light might be a clue to how she got there. She was running out of breath and so she swam back up to the surface. After getting some air, she dived back in. She swam down to towards the light. Once she got closer, she felt that her lungs were about to burst, but she persevered. She got closer and closer to the light.

The light was coming from something underwater. Was it a legendary item? She might be putting herself in danger by approaching a legendary item. She read a lot of books during her spare time, and she loved reading fantasy novels. The main character would come across a legendary item and there would always be some dangerous creature protecting the treasure.

She wondered if she would have to tackle a dragon or a shark to get the item. She couldn’t imagine ever being as courageous as one of the heroes in those books. She imagined herself being swallowed whole by a dragon. That would be a horrible death. She kept swimming towards the light until she noticed that she was out of breath.

She struggled to get to the surface, but it was too late. She took a breath and expected to get water in her lungs. This would be her death. She heard that dying of drowning was the worst. All of her organs would burst from being filled with water and she would die an excruciating death.

Shockingly, none of her expectations came true. Once she breathed in the water, she noticed that she could actually breathe underwater. It was like she was a mermaid. How was this possible? Yuna cheered to herself when she found out that she wouldn’t have to struggle underwater any longer.

She swam back towards the light and squinted her eyes to find out what was glowing so brightly. She couldn’t figure out what it was no matter how much she squinted. She swam faster and faster. Once she got closer, she looked around to see if there were any dangerous creatures. She couldn’t find any, so she kept swimming closer.

She finally stopped swimming closer when she discovered the thing that was glowing. She was frightened by the enormous sleeping bird that was curled up into a ball. The bird was a mixture of red, yellow, and white. Its’ wings were made of fire. She wondered how the bird could be underwater when it was made of fire.

(Just imagine its' tail is white)

Once she noticed that the light was coming from a dangerous existence, she had no choice but to sneakily swim back up to the surface. She should’ve been more careful. She wanted to smack herself in the face for being stupid. She should remember to be careful in the future. Her curiosity could be the cause of her death in the future.

Yuna frantically swam up towards the surface. Her heart dropped to her stomach when she felt something pulling at her feet. She tried to kick it away in fright, but it firmly tugged at her feet. Her body flew down towards the bird rapidly. She looked down at her feet to find that a purplish/red string was tied to her ankles. It was pulling her down underwater.

To her dismay, all the struggling and kicking didn’t do much. She ended up facing the bird. The bird had awoken from its slumber and its eyes stared straight into her soul. She shivered in fright when she sensed that its’ eyes revealed its’ intelligence. Creatures that could comprehend the human mind was even more alarming than normal creatures. She didn’t even know if she would ever face a creature in her entire life.

She thought that the world she was born in first was supposed to be similar to her second. How was it possible that this place could defy all logic? She could breathe underwater, and she could walk on water. How did any of this make sense? She even came across a mythological creature. If her imagination was correct, she was looking at a phoenix.
