Prince Jimin knew that the garden was off limits, but he wasn’t everyone else. He was special. His father favored him unlike his brothers and sisters. He was given special treatment. He was given permission to enter the garden only if he kept it a secret from the empress and his siblings.
Jimin enjoyed the company of his family and friends, but he still needed alone time on occasion. He needed a place to think and the only place he could truly get alone time was the garden. There was nothing special about this garden, but he enjoyed going because he knew no one else would be there.
While he was taking a stroll through the garden, he was shocked to find a girl there. Her voice flowed seamlessly with the atmosphere. The flower petals flew up from the ground, making her look like a fairy. Her glossy black hair swayed with the wind. She had her eyes closed while singing.
There were plenty of girls in the palace with beautiful faces, but none of them made his heart tremble. Just the sight of her made his heart skip a beat. He remembered that there was only one girl that made him feel this way. It was at his sister’s birthday banquet. The girl was the daughter of the general. He could clearly remember her eyes that were as bright as stars. She wasn’t a beauty that could make civilizations collapse, but she had a certain charm about her that made him think about her.
After he met her, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. Even after he was at death’s door, he could only think of her. He almost died that day when the assassins barged into the palace. He barely survived it, but the only thing that kept him from dying was the girl in his mind.
Three years had gone by, but he still couldn’t get her out of his mind. He gazed at the girl singing with all her might. He wondered if he had slowly fallen out of love with the General’s daughter. The fairy before his eyes made his heartbeat erratically. He was disappointed in himself for falling in love with other women so easily.
He was beginning to doubt himself until the girl opened her eyes. Her eyes were exactly the same as the girl at his sister’s banquet. It was Yuna. No wonder his heart was beating so fast. It was because the fairy-like girl was actually Yuna. She has grown up so well. Her features have gotten sharper.
Yuna’s eyes grew wide in shock. She can’t be caught! Yuna dashed away from the stranger in a hurry. Jimin rushed up to her and grabbed her arm, “Wait. Why are you here?” Yuna jumped in fright, “I promise I’m not a suspicious person. I just got lost.” Jimin’s soft voice made Yuna shiver, “It’s okay. I don’t doubt you.”
Yuna looked up at Jimin and asked, “Who are you? I thought the garden was off limits.” Jimin laughed, “I could say the same to you. This garden is off limits.” Yuna frowned, “I was lost.” She’s such a bad liar, “If you were lost, how did you know the garden was off limits?” She facepalmed when she realized how bad of a liar she was. She tried to redirect the conversation, “So, who are you?”
Jimin apologized, “I’m sorry for the late introduction. I’m the crown prince of the Guwon nation, Prince Jimin.” Yuna was shocked beyond belief. She was trying to hide from everyone, and she had to run into the crown prince of all people.
Although she was upset that she had to run into the crown prince at this time, she was a little happy. She was wondering if the future would be different. She hoped that the future wouldn’t have changed and caused his death earlier than normal.
Luckily for her, Princess Ara’s marriage had delayed his death greatly. The fact that she was kidnapped by Minho, made her worry that Minho would have already planned his death in advance. Her father must have been causing trouble in the palace. There would be no way that Minho would gain her father’s support at this time.
Yuna decided to lay low for now and act like a normal young lady in front of the prince. Her voice trembled slightly, “I’m so sorry. Greetings to your highness the crown prince. I’m General Junho’s one and only daughter, Yuna. I spoke so rudely to you before. Please forgive me.” Yuna bowed with her head lowered.
She hoped that Prince Jimin would let this slide. If she was caught sneaking into the garden, she could be sentenced to death. If a royal family member caught her, it was highly likely that she would have her head chopped off. Prince Jimin placed his hand on her shoulder and said, “No need to be so formal. I was just wondering why you were in the garden.”
Yuna struggled to find a good lie, “Like I said, I was lost.” Jimin lifted an eyebrow, “Sure. Let’s say you were lost. I can cover for your lie if you do me one favor.” Yuna grumbled in her mind, ‘Great… I just had to run into the arrogant crown prince known to be a player… I shouldn’t have sung the song. I got carried away. Why does this guy want a favor from me? Let’s just hope that it isn’t anything perverted.’
Yuna tried her best to look innocent. She bit her lower lip and looked into the prince’s eyes, “Of course. I’ll do anything that you ask, crown prince.” She sounded like the rest of the lady’s that fawned over him. She wanted to throw up. She hated having to kiss up to superiors. It felt like she was trying to appease her boss at work.
Prince Jimin’s face glowed with delight once he heard her response, “If that’s so, I will gladly take up your offer.” Yuna hoped in her heart that he wouldn’t ask her to do something outrageous. Only God knows what kind of favors a player would ask. She hoped that it wasn’t anything perverted or anything that could place her in a dangerous situation.
