Jimin’s request surprised her, “Could we meet at least once a week?” Yuna was so dumbfounded, she didn’t know what to say. Did he think she had all the time in the world? Wasn’t he supposed to be busy? She had only one thought, this stupid prince only thinks about playing around. He should be worried about his scheming brothers and sisters. His death is approaching and all he can think about is playing around. Someone please smack some sense into this prince.
Yuna tried her best to not show what she was thinking, but it was difficult. She definitely wanted to yell at him, but she knew that the only way to get out of this situation was to agree with him. Even if she had to agree, she wasn’t going to make it easy for him. Yuna put on a pouty face and acted sad, “I’d like to agree with you, but my father is very strict. Even if my father agreed, I still wouldn’t be able to. I’m very busy. I hardly have time to meet you once a week.”
Prince Jimin was a sly one. He was used to all the different tricks people could play. Especially since he lived in the palace. He could tell from a glance that Yuna was trying to get out of this. He frowned, “I heard that you were kidnapped by my brother. He goes around saying that you’re his concubine, but given my position, I know the truth. He has you locked up in the palace. Your father has no say in the matter. He doesn’t even know where you are. If that’s the case, you should have plenty of time to spend with me. Plus, it would put you at a disadvantage if I decided to tell my brother that you were able to escape.”
Yuna should’ve been more cautious. She forgot that everyone in the palace had their own schemes. She was stupid to think that Prince Jimin was any different. She mistakenly thought that he was harmless because he died early. She didn’t expect that Prince Jimin was just as sly as the rest of them.
Yuna put on her best fake smile, “Crown Prince, if that is the case, I’ll just have to comply. The only problem is that if I were to meet you once a week, I’m sure that Prince Minho wouldn’t be too happy about that, would he? Afterall, he considers me his concubine. The only way I would be able to listen to your request is if you help me escape the palace.”
Jimin was stunned by Yuna’s response. He thought he was good at scheming, but she was better than him! After 2 years of being away from her, he forgot how smart she was. She was good with her words. Negotiating with her would be the best way. The only way to get her to meet him once a week would be to help her out, but he didn’t like the idea of her leaving the palace. He knew that once she stepped foot outside the palace, she would definitely avoid seeing him.
Yuna snickered to herself when she saw his defeated expression. She knew she won. Just when she thought that she had won, Prince Jimin spoke, “I could help you, but I don’t think I could help you escape the palace. There are way too many guards out there. I was nearly assassinated two years ago. I still have this scar on my leg.”
He lifted up a portion of his clothes and showed her his ankle. She looked down and a saw a big gash. It looked healed, but the scar was deep. Yuna cursed under her breath and wondered if he was telling the truth. His schemes were so good, it made her doubt if he really was a weak prince. She could tell that there was something odd about the prince. He didn’t seem weak at all.
She only meditated once, but she could feel the atmosphere around him was not normal. Even if she wanted to examine him more, she wouldn’t be able to notice anything. She wasn’t strong enough to notice if he was lying or telling the truth. She decided to believe him for now. If he was a strong martial artist, why did he get injured? She couldn’t think of any reason why he would purposely put himself in a dangerous situation. He also died at an early age.
She could only believe that he was a weak prince. Prince Jimin looked down at his leg in sorrow, “I’m sorry, but I won’t be much help. Although I can’t help you escape the palace, I could help you hide from my brother. How does that sound?” Yuna was disappointed with the result but getting away from Minho was better than nothing. She’d rather stay with Prince Jimin than stay with Minho.
Minho was a disgusting human being. Every time she saw his face, she wanted to throw daggers at him. If she hid at Prince Jimin’s residence, she could eventually find a way out of the palace. Her priority right now is to find out what happened to Sun. Since Jimin is the crown prince, she was sure he could find out any information in the palace.
She wasn’t worried about Prince Jimin doing anything to her. If he’s truly a weak prince, she could easily beat him up and run away. Yuna decided that this decision was for the best. She agreed, “I think that’s a great idea. Where would I stay?”
Jimin’s heart leapt with joy when he heard her reply. He thought to himself, ‘She willingly fell into my trap. Now, all I have to do is convince my father that it would be better if he took her as his wife than his idiotic little brother.’ He had confidence in himself that he could get General Junho to approve their marriage.
He spent years pretending to be a weak prince. He didn’t care if his façade would be found out later on. He only pretended to be weak because the Empress had a strong backing. If he were to marry the General’s daughter, he wouldn’t have to pretend anymore. He could easily gain the support of General Junho and his army of strong martial artists. He knew the General admired the strong and he was confident in his martial arts.
He replied, “I’m the crown prince. The palace is vast. There are many places you can hide.” She could stay wherever she wants to stay. He just hoped that she would pick a place that was close to him. He decided that he would only let her choose places that were near him.
