Chapter 88 - HIBI

The sunset was a dazzling pinkish orange color. Yuna stared at the sky while waiting patiently for her plan. She was originally planning on getting Prince Jimin to find out what happened to Sun but decided that it was impossible for him to know. Guwon citizens had distorted opinions about Ezraens. She didn’t believe a prince would be any different. He grew up in a place that abhorred any Ezraen people. Yuna highly doubted that anyone in this society would be different.

The only people she believed were normal were her family and Eunho. The only way she could find out more about Sun is by finding her father or find out on her own. If Sun was captured and kept alive, she would be locked up in the Pocheung. If she wasn’t there, she had no clue where she could be. She just hoped that Sun was still alive.

The maids circled her residence busily while doing various tasks. The maids that directly served her were like spies that refused to leave her. They were strictly ordered to watch over Yuna and make sure she’s comfortable. If there was even a single word of complaint, they worried that they would be out of a job and a place to live. The maids were like hawks patrolling the area.

Even as the sky grew dark, she couldn’t find a way to escape. She was directly dragged to her bedroom by the persistent maids. Yuna sighed to herself, ‘Looks like I won’t be getting out tonight.’ Once the door to her room was opened, she noticed that the room was filled with a fragrant smell of delicious food. There was a low table set up with various dishes.

Yuna could only wonder if she should expect guests for dinner. There was so much food, even 20 people couldn’t finish everything without their stomachs exploding. She asked the maid, “Why’s there so much food? There shouldn’t be anyone else coming, right?” The maid laughed, “No need to worry, Lady Yuna. Of course, his highness the crown prince will come to see you. You’re so lucky. His highness seems to favor you greatly.”

Yuna wasn’t expecting that these maids knew anything about this situation. She had no way of explaining her relationship with the crown prince. Any woman of higher status in the palace would be considered a concubine, princess, or empress. There were hardly any female guests that spent the night. If they did, they were already considered a concubine. The first thing she wanted to do was run away.

Yuna tried to explain, “It’s not like that. I’m not a…” Before she could finish her sentence, the paper sliding door to her bedroom slid open. Prince Jimin barged into her room without announcing himself. She really didn’t want to deal with this player prince. The maid didn’t wait for her to finish her sentence. She promptly stood up and stepped aside. Her head remained lowered.

Prince Jimin dismissed the maids and servants with his hand. He didn’t even have to utter a word. The maids swiftly left the room and shut the door behind them. The air became stagnant and the only thing she heard was their breathing. Yuna coughed to break the awkward silence, “Why are you here?”

His billion-dollar smile made her wish she was not there, “Tonight’s your first night in my residence. I can’t let a guest eat alone. That wouldn’t be polite.” Is this how he seduced his concubines? She really didn’t want to know. Yuna quickly moved away from him and to the other end of the table. She made sure to sit away from him.

Jimin followed behind and decided to pretend to be ignorant of her actions. He sat right next to her. Yuna frowned and tried to scoot over to the other side. It only made him scoot closer. She glared at his expressionless face. He is definitely pretending to not know. She suggested, “Crown Prince, why don’t you sit over there? The maid set your bowl of rice and chopsticks on that side. I can sit here.”

He complained, “But I don’t want to sit there. I want to sit here.” He pointed at the seat right next to her. She thought to herself, ‘Two can play this game.’ She smiled, “If you want to sit here, no problem. I’ll sit over there then.” She quickly sat across from him. The table was very long, and it made her happy knowing that he would be far away from her.

Jimin felt regret after seeing how far away she was. He instructed the maids to prepare a lavish meal. He didn’t expect that the maids would go above and beyond. They prepared a feast. His forehead scrunched up in frustration when he noticed how happy Yuna was. She completely ignored him and began eating heartily. He wanted to sit next to her…

After watching her puffy cheeks fill up like a squirrel, her cuteness made his anger and frustration disappear. Throughout the entire meal, Jimin hardly touched any of his food. He was too busy watching her eat.

Yuna couldn’t believe how hungry she was. Before she was kidnapped, she hardly had any appetite. She remained thin and malnourished all her life. Now that her body has grown stronger and the poison was flushed out of her system, her appetite seemed to have grown significantly.

She continued to shovel food into her mouth like she was starved for centuries. She didn’t pay any attention to the prince that was staring at her in a daze. Other girls were strict with their diets, and they were taught to eat as if they were a delicate flower. Each bite should be tiny, and they were taught to never show their teeth.

Jimin had never seen any girl eat the way Yuna did. He should be feeling disgusted, but for some odd reason, he didn’t feel disgusted. He actually found her extremely cute. With every bite, Yuna hummed, “mmm… it’s so good.” Her eyes sparkled with delight. She was in heaven. Food never tasted this good.

When she was poisoned, food was similar to canned food, and everything tasted so bland. After she was cured, the different flavors and spices made her want to cry with joy. She didn’t even bother being worried about her appearance. She grabbed the chicken leg off the plate and ripped it off with her teeth. She was overjoyed knowing that she wouldn’t get another chance to eat the food in the palace.

All the top-notch chefs were working in the palace. The palace was luxurious and greedy. They made sure to snatch all the best chefs in the world without leaving any behind. Even the chefs in her residence weren’t as good. Not that she would know how their food really tasted. She was too used to eating horrible meals, she could only associate the taste with her family’s chef’s bland tasting meals.
